Labor Day weekend is The BEST! It’s like a farewell to Summer. It doesn’t matter what you did or didn’t do over the Summer, Labor Day weekend is a celebration for us all.
I’ve mentioned before how I love Mondays at work. I really do. I like hearing about what everyone did on the weekend. There is an unsaid understanding from everyone in the USA – the weekend was too short, we wish we had one more day, and today needs to go smoothly so we can all just make it back home. It’s sad, but true.
That said, I DO NOT like the day after a long weekend. People come in like gangbusters, as if they are a day behind. HELLO! It was a holiday. NO ONE was working, so slow your roll. I don’t say it out loud, but my mind is screaming it at everyone; people in traffic, the folks in line for coffee and even the breakfast sandwich line people. Talk about killing the vibe. The people working the day after the holiday do it.
We should be riding on the magical wave of the 3 day weekend, but somehow we aren’t. THIS YEAR, let’s take a stand, WE WILL hold on to the sunshine of the weekend. WE WILL be joyful and smile about the "time we had" just 24hours ago.
It’s not magical, BUT it is a new day to be Joyful!
